For anyone ordering, it's way cheaper to have options like rear rack, sport seat, 719 wheels and 719 levers added at the factory compared to buying them later.

I take it the cases and Nav were shipped separate of the bike?

I dunno. I asked to be told when it arrives so I can take pictures of it being uncrated so if that happens I'll be looking to see what comes in the crate and/or attached.

I'm pretty sure panniers and NAVI are "Accessories" vs. Factory-provided.

That's what I figured. When you do a Build Your Own and select from the long list of Accessories, the price does not update.

They absolutely are. Not sure but even the “GPS prep” may be dealer installed. Only panniers racks come from the factory. At least that was how it was when I bought my bike.

I'm 6'4" w/35" inseam so my body made up my mind for me already -- Sport Seat it is. As another fellow tall person, how do you find the ergos? My K1200RS with stock seat in the high position and stock pegs in the low and had no issues. I didn't find a R1250RS to test ride so am committed to making it work now; lowered pegs, bar risers, whatever.

It's been a long time but I think The RS has a similar riding position compared to the K1200RS.
The Sport seat on the RS is higher than the K1200RS with it's seat in the high position.
The specs don't show the Sport seat being much taller than the standard seat but the Sport seat is firm so you don't sink into it.

I went with the Suburban Machinery peg lowering kit as well as the Sport seat and the Wunderlich bars. I'm about a 34" inseam, but I've had my right hip replaced (and right shoulder surgery), so I was trying to open up the "triangle" as much as possible.

It's not "T120" relaxed, but it's just fine, knowing that putting one's hips/knees/feet in that "sporting" position isn't something you do every day (or, in my case, EVER), so the tendons (both hips) are getting a workout, but that's good!

Now that I have about 160 miles in, I'm toying with rotating the bars back toward me just a bit, as there's plenty of room to do so. That's a pure tweak, more than anything else.

NEWBIE QUESTION OF THE DAY

What is this little white box with the three dashes in it next to the speedo? I swear I scoured the owner's manual, but found nothing.

This icon popped up after I connected a BMW double USB cord to my DIN port and then connected my phone to one of the USB ports. If I disconnect the phone, the little white box disappears. So, it means "something is connected to your DIN port" but what else?

Thought I'd share a couple of comparison photos between the SW MoTech Pro Engage and Pro Trial tank bags. I really wanted something with exterior pockets, but the City was widely UNavailable, so I ended up sourcing these from a shop in Europe at quite a savings. The Trial is, I believe, slightly shorter and a bit wider than the City version, but somehow it holds more. I don't get it, and I've only just gotten them installed and more or less where I want them to be, fore and aft.

Once I get them loaded up with the stuff I intend to carry, I'm hoping they'll hug the contour of the tank a bit more, but so be it. What's interesting is that, as the pilot, I have zero idea what they look like when underway. I'll likely end up using the Engage for everyday/around town, and the Trial will be for overnighters and such.

Those pictures are very helpful to others because the Pro series has not been out long and people want to know how they look on the bike.
We have our Engage bags slid more forward. The nice thing about the Pro mount is you can slide it back or forward in seconds to find the position you like.

   

I have the mount on my Engage and Micro slid to the back. Can't remember, they may be one click from the rear.

Exactly right, very easy to adjust. Like everything else, they’ll get tweaked for “fit,” but I was pleasantly surprised at how unobtrusive the bigger bag is. I was concerned I’d be distracted or that it would be in the way, but it all but disappears once you get going.
Now I gotta go move the mounting position…

Re MPH white square. The Connected app has to have that state map for the MPH to show, states are downloaded individually. If you cross a state line and the MPH goes blank, that's what it is.

I've been debating whether or not to turn that icon off, but I think I'd better leave it on for now. It's VERY easy to find yourself exceeding the speed limit on this thing!

While I was in the mode of adhering things today, I decided to plunge in on the Puig front fender extender. There was a PUIG sticker on the cello bag that it all came in, but no real branding on the $55 piece of plastic itself. And, the instructions refer to it as the "ExtendaFenda". Option to just use the multitude of stickers or use stickers and drill holes; I'll take the former.
You basically form a "gasket" (the instructions say) by lining up stickers along the edge that butts up to the fender's edge, then fill in the rest of the area. More PanelWipe on the underside of the fender, slip it into place, squeeze, then clamp for good measure. Real lay-on-the-garage-floor type of work, but that's half the fun, right? Didn't realize how bobbed the front fender was vs. every other bike I've owned. Anyway, fun project.
