Thu, Fri and Sat Day Passes at MOA National

New this year, day passes available Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the National Rally in Springfield, Mo starting June 16.


Saturday pass can be purchased online or at the gate.
Thursday and Friday passes can only be purchased at the gate.
Price is $35 for a day pass.

Most of us from this Forum Community who were there probably already left by Saturday. Darrell, Mark, Ron and I and Lee and Debbie were there and stayed at a motel.

Came in on Thursday AM, out on Saturday AM. Fun trip, considering the brutal heat.

Debbie and I left from the Best Western this morning and we're now in Yellville, Ar.
Met another RS rider at the motel who is on the forum sometimes.
Debbie and I worked the registration checkin at the gate Thursday 8am to 1pm and saw several RSs, but had to keep then line moving so no time to talk.
The Peel ferry was busy today.

The ferry does look crowded! What time were you on the ferry? I was riding in that area (125 south of the ferry and 14 around Lead Hill) about 9 - 9:30 on Sunday.

Is there much to do anymore at registration?  With the computerized system in place at Hamburg and the on-line registrations, we just assembled the packets (map, raffle tickets, ads, etc.) which were handed out by the person applying the wristband.  Not like the old days when you needed a small army to process the folks

We were on the ferry about 11:00 AM
We have been on the lower half of 125 several times but this was the first on the north half.
125 is one of the best roads in the area.
The next day we did the Push Mt. Road. Stopped at the Cotter Bridge on the way.
The bridge has 5 concrete arches.

We had to hustle because it was not organized and for a hour or two only one person had the phone app to check them in.
The chair did not tell anyone what to do and Debbie and and figured thing out on the fly.
The line was very long at times and sometimes backed up onto a busy street. A lot of riders had to sit on a hill while waiting and people were shutting off bikes because they were getting too hot.
Six people with the app would have worked good.
Four to check in bikes, one to check in cars and one to check walk-ins. There were a alot of walk-ins from the volunteers who were already camped.

We rarely saw anyone at the tent for people who did not pre-register.

So you were doing registration while the riders were on their bikes? That's different. In the past, the riders parked their bikes and went to a tent or building.

125 north of the ferry is a great bit of road if you can catch it with out traffic...

Registration was in 2 parts - inside and outside. Outside you paid and picked up the vehicle pass and something else - I forget what; wristband maybe. If you had not paid and and pre-registered you had to go to a different tent to the left.
Any one trying to pay at the pre-registered tent from the bike really bogged down the
 very long line. When I had time I ran down the line to make everyone was preregistered.
Thursday morning when there was the big rush there were two bike lines for prerigistration, one line for the people who arrived earlier in the week and who pre-registered, plus a car lane for pre-registered. 
We had to be very careful where we stood.
All others had to park their bike or car and go to a tifferent tent.
By the we left at 1:00 a organized system was figured out and enough people with the phone app were there to check you in.
It would have gone smoother Thursday morning if all volunteers had the app and  basics instruction were given.

Outside you received your doorprise ticket and bike pass. Inside you received your wrist band and rally packet.

I was told Great Falls was the first year of checking in pre-registered riders on the bike. I'm guessing it was a two part process like this year.
It would be too slow and clumsy to hand all the stuff to a rider while they are on the bike and try to put a wrist band on them. Most would need to get off the bike to stow the stuff.
Des Moines was set up where everyone parked and went into a air conditioned building where pre-registered and unregistered checked in. 
The air-conditioning probably cooled off the hot and grumpy riders..
We worked Tennessee registration and it was fun. I think we stayed a extra hour or two. There you went into a building if you were pre-registered and outside to fill out your forms if not registered. We handled the outside people and we mainly were information people. We had arrived the day before and knew where most of the stuff was located.

Thursday morning and early afternoon at Springfield was hot so some of the riders were not pleasant after sitting in the long line in the heat and some with overheating bikes starting and stopping on the hill.
Debbie told me one guy really went off on her about the long wait. The good thing was everyone after him that heard the chewing out made a point to thank her for volunteering.

The rally was only 330 miles from home but we're still on the road Smile
With the heat we only do short rides each day.
Today I took her out to a fancy place for breakfast in Oark Arkansas.

Hamburg, NY was set up like your description of Des Moines.  I worked registration at Bloomsburg (Hot, Hot, Hot), St. Paul and Hamburg.  Even with the heat at Hamburg and being in that tent, I don't recall any problem customers.  Yes, it was a lot hotter in the tent than outside.
