For some time now I have been mulling over touring in my beloved Canada, but getting my bike all the way up from Texas is a nightmare in terms of cost, logistics and probably most significantly, time, as I am not yet retired. So it looks as though getting the RS (or the Tracer) to Canada to go touring would simply take too long, and shipping the bike there could be costly and be a logistical nightmare. I was looking into renting a bike but pickings were slim especially since I want to start in Newfoundland and work my way west, even if I have to break the tour into more than one trip. Renting a bike like a BMW GS in Canada is not simple and I was coming up empty renting in Newfoundland. It was (is?) probably best to buy a bike and keep it in Canada, and I have options there. But this is not a post seeking a solution to my problem; it is intended to share my excitement regarding the subject option.
During the last 2022 BMW MOA Rally in Springfield Missouri, I visited the most important (to me) vendor in the whole Rally - Canadian Motorcycle Rentals / Renedian Motorcycle Tours. I met and had a great chat with Rene Cormier, who I believe is a born New Brunswicker (last name fits) living in BC, and who is the Founder of several ventures including Canadian Motorcycle Rentals and Renedian Motorcycle Tours. Rene was telling me how St.John's (Halifax and Toronto) drop-offs were going to be fully on-stream in 2023 (presently they do Western Canada - Kelowna / Penticton / Vancouver and Calgary).
Another option for my bucket list tour (if I don't move back to Canada post-retirement).
