74 yr old rider from the Texas Hill Country. Flew out to California last week and rode a 2018 R1200RS back to Texas. Had owned a '11 R1200RT about 2 yrs ago and enjoyed it. Still own a '17 Multistrada 1200 which is a kick in the pants m/c but will be putting it up for sale soon since I only want to have 1 m/c to maintain. Will be looking at different forum threads to get more educated on the RS. Currently have a VStream windscreen and Aeroflow Aeroflares on order to help make a quieter environment inside my helmet.

Welcome to the forum.
My wife and I will be in your area next month. We'll be on two white R1250RSs.

Welcome from a fellow TWTer. I think we met several years ago in Ingram, you were selling a helmet that didn't come close to fitting my big ole pumpkin head.
Good group here. Nice bike, I had an 18 model.

Welcome to the Forum Community and RS ownership, Ed. I am sure that you will like the RS, although with the VStream windshield and Aeroflares you may find it a tad warm in the Texas heat ...?
Are you a BMW MOA member? They have an annual event in Kerrville in the Fall, which my wife and I (and some others on this Forum) attended (my wife and I) for the first time last year. Planning on going again this year.

Yep, I recall meeting you at the motel there in Ingram. If I recall correctly, ended up selling the helmet on Adventure Rider. Still look at the TWT website a couple of times a week to see what's going on.

In Texas hot is hot in the summer months, regardless of what kind of windscreen a fella is using. Nice thing about being retired is being able to pick & choose which days I want to ride based on the weather.
Joined BMW MOA a couple of days ago. more for the discounts and the magazine than anything else. Might get to meet you and others at the next rally.
Have enjoyed watching your YouTube videos.

Agreed about the heat, and in Houston there is the humidity as well. That'w why I have a small windscreen on both bikes.
Discounts and the Platinum Roadside Assistance with tire coverage, and yes the BMW ON Magazine.
Thanks for watching my videos ... you would likely have seen the series on the 2022 event in Kerrville as well.
