1250 RT for 2023
#1
Tongue
I just retired recently, 40+ years of practicing Family Medicine! So.....I sold my 2018 RS (my personal ride) and my 2018 1650 GTL (our bike, my wife and I). Too much $ for tires, insurance, tune-ups, license tags, state and local property taxes....SHEESH! So, I decided to go back to my RT roots and took a good hard look at the 2023 RT sitting on my dealer's floor....Then I took it for a brief ride, local roads and super slab. I LIKED IT!
But Dude, it was Barbie Eyes Blue Huh so I decided to order the Alpine White with round handlebars rather than the stock cast aluminum dudes. Did I mention that I'M OLD. I also purchased a set of risers that lift and separate; well lift and pull back about a cm or 2....just right!
I really love this bike! That shift cam motor is a beast when you want it to be and a solid, easy-going big twin cruiser when droning along the super-slab just as comfortable and competent as one could imagine, when you want it to be!
Also, I really like the active cruise control function as well, I've come to enjoy that on my cars, now i can enjoy it on my bike too! -Dr Ron

Welcome to the Forum Community, Dr. Ron.

Excellent bike you have ordered ... and in a great colour as well. The moderator on this Forum Community also has an RT in the Alpine White, and I am sure it looks way better than the Racing Blue Metallic (?) you may have tried.

Welcome to the site. You're going to like that shiftcam engine.
I like Alpine White. My wife and I both had a K1200RS in Alpine White and Orient Blue.
I think the RT Grumpy Goat is talking about is a Option 719 RT in Mineral Metallic White. To me it has a Pearl White look.

Congratulations at several levels - not the least of which is your retirement. (Though, if you run out of money for tires, there's always the locom tenens circuit).

A question raised by the last RT purchase on this forum - which paint jobs on the new bikes are ceramic coat-worthy?

Yeppers, congrats on your retirement and the new 1250RT. I went from a 1200RT to the 1250RS and do miss the RT on occasion.
