That is awesome news.  I'll be interested to learn the backstory of all of this, if it ever comes out.

Confirmed in the BMW MOA News that the "Stop Sale" has been lifted. The article does have some details in it that are good enough for me.

Our K1300Ss had dual air filters. Each snorkel had a straight path to the air box so you probably got a Ram Air effect.

I also like a long oil window.
The K1300S had a long tube because it was a dry sump engine. This made it easy to check the oil on the centerstand or sidestand.

Filter cartridges are nothing new and more environmentally friendly, as there is no wasted metal. Good move in my opinion.

Hopefully, the replacement shaft price will stay at ~$210

They got rid of the cooling fins on front of the cylinders.
Maybe the cylinders get more oil for cooling. The 1300 gets 5 liters of oil.

I like the new cylinder castings.  I wonder if the service interval will increase with the larger oil capacity.

With these new models I could see the RS being dropped from production. That being said my 1200RS is perfect for me and will most likely be my last big bore bike anyhow. If that turns out not to be the case give me the triple black GS please.

The RS has been dropped before.  The great minds at BMW do as they will

The big Tiger won this match-up but I expect it will have a better challenge from the new R1300GS. Good video review though.

At first I thought so but I watch Neeves' reviews and he is hardly a British brand fanboy and the other fella likes the KTM and the Tiger. The Tigers are actually quite good all around, although I am convinced that while materials are good quality and design approach is excellent, their assembly is a bit disappointing. BMWs got them beat for assembly 1000%. More on that when I do a review of the Tiger but that is a story for another day.
