Headed To Gunnison
#21
Signs for Masks Required are common in Colorado.
Temps were 41 to 100 F today.
In Vernal Utah now.

Looks like I'll have to continue my posts when I return home.
The site is fighting my mobile devices.

You might use Tapatalk while on the road. Pretty easy to post photos.

You hit add photos. I pull right from the phone's camera gallery on my Android. It resizes at your selection to small, medium, or large (VIP)....

I know a couple of others have found it convenient.

I have to copy pictures to my tablet, resize and then post.

Do you post through Tapatalk when posting from your phone? If so then Tapatalk was likely the culprit as I believe it automates the size and bit weight. I did nothing on the Forum end.

That is a bandwidth issue. Even if the signal strength is high (many bars) bandwidth could be bad, and vice versa. They are independent of one another.

That said, the photos are very nice and welcomed since, as Ray said, we are riding vicariously through you.

Hi Lee, welcome to Colorado. I went to Walden about two week ago on a day ride, with a friend that rides a Thruxton, we had lunch at the River Rock Cafe, it was a good day! Yep, it's summertime and getting hot. I live at 5000 ft elevation but can get to 8000 ft in about 40 minutes where it's 20 degrees cooler.

Nice ride today over Monarch and Cottonwood passes. Surprised there was a fair amount of traffic and when we stopped in Crested Butte for ice cream the town was very busy. Crowded enough most people were wearing masks outside. A bit of a change after being in the boonies the last few days.
Motel has been full the last two nights.

How was Cottonwood? I am chomping at the bit now that it is paved all the way across.

It's a great road and well engineered.
It was busy at the start but after people pulled off for trails and we started to pass we had a uninterrupted ride for 3/4 of it.
Didn't get a picture at the top because the parking area was full.

Today was North Pass on 114 then Spring Creek and Slumgullion Pass on 149.
On and off rain on 149 but the road was dry near the passes and waterfall.

That had to be a pretty large object to break a 2” diameter piece of pretty thick plastic. Likely the light lens itself would have not survived had you not been riding with the cover lens.

I think it all had to do with pressure. If the small rock that likely caused that had a point that contacted the lens directly, then the pressure seen at the point would easily cause that failure. Like you said, good thing it was the lens cover.

Black Canyon of Gunnison.
97 over by Delta, dropped to 58 east of Montrose in the rain. Mid 70s after the rain.
Wanted to go south of Gateway tomorrow but it's too dam hot in that area.
