Little Switzerland
#1
So, I just finished up an excellent (extended) weekend. Sharon and I spent Thursday/Friday celebrating our anniversary, in the usual location: the Boone area and surrounding mountains of NC. Then caught up with Kent, Sunday, for a 2 wheel blast up into VA, the twistiest way possible.
Finally wrapped it up today, with a 320 mile round trip to Little Switzerland. Once I arrived at the area, turned onto 226 and up to 226A, where the real fun starts. Reminded me of my first damp trip through the Dragon...except for the leaves on the road. And the fog at the higher elevations. And I wasn’t following Bruce and Dawn :-)
It’s fairly technical, like the Dragon, but with plenty of homes and driveways, like a normal road. The conditions didn’t dampen (ha ha) the fun at all. Notching the TC to Road (throttle still in Dynamic) made for an entertaining light show on the dash. And the new RS IV’s did an amazing job in these circumstances. Just like the RS III’s did on the Dragon. After a couple of blasts up and down 226A I headed home, straight down 40 East. The BMW RS, that we’re all so fond of, never fails to impress me with how many different things it does so well. [Image: 70906f51d0f037d83a66c2bb0e5947fe.jpg]

Belated Happy Anniversary to your wife Sharon and you Dave.
Nice road report and pictures.
When my parents were alive they lived in Etowah NC. I spent a lot of time visiting them and riding the roads in NC.

I prefer to leave TC off. It's fun leaving little darkies coming out of the corners.

Smile right - acceleration and exit markers for the rest of us. Thank you for your service....

With all the wet leaves on the road, the only darkies were in my britches, lol. Yeh, I know, TMI

Yeah, we've got the wet leaves thing going on around here too. Not exactly conducive to grabbing a handful on corner exit. Confused
