When you register for the forums you will automatically be sent an email prompting you to activate the account. This is a necessary security feature to help protect the membership from spurious sign-ups.

Please check your email Inbox or even Spam folder for this activation email. If the account is not activated you won't be able to post to the forums and in some cases some forums would not be visible for reading.

Information Navigating the RSWasserboxer Forum Community
Posted by: Grumpy Goat - 06-16-2018, 08:03 AM - Forum: Announcements - No Replies

There are many Bulletin Board (BB) software platforms out there and they share many similarities and differences. I happen to think that this one is very easy to set up and also to use, and has many convenient features.

This post has an attachment (in PDF format) which you may find informative with regard to navigating the BB and the various fora. I may update the attachment from time to time as I learn more myself, but new users should take a look at it unless they are familiar with this particular BB software.

Note - you may need the free Adobe Reader (or Adobe Acrobat) to be able to read PDF files. If using Microsoft Edge browser, it handles PDF files right out of the box.

Information GENERAL RULES
Posted by: Grumpy Goat - 06-05-2018, 08:37 PM - Forum: Announcements - No Replies

  1. Stay on the topic of the forum and of the thread.
  2. Search is your friend. Before posting a question on a forum, check if anyone has asked it already and received a reply.
  3. Check the most recent comments before you reply to an older comment, since the issue might have already been resolved or opinions may have changed.
  4. Don’t type in ALL CAPS! If you do, it will look like you’re screaming.
  5. Refrain from writing anything that sounds angry or sarcastic, even as a joke, because without hearing the tone of voice, it could be taken the wrong way.
  6. Respect the opinions of others; others are entitled to have their own perspective on the issue.
  7. Be brief. If you write a long dissertation in response to a simple question, it’s unlikely that anyone will spend the time to read through it all.
  8. If you refer to something which was said earlier in a discussion, quote just a few key lines from that post so that others wont have to go back and figure out which post you’re referring to.
  9. Before asking a question, check the FAQs or search the Internet to see if the answer is obvious or easy to find.
  10. Do not post links to material which may be subject to copyright, the declared intellectual property of others, or not in the public domain. For example, links to electronic copies of shop manuals are not to be posted.
  11. Moderation action by Moderators or Administrator is not subject to public debate. If there you need clarification on something please use a private message.
RULE OF THUMB: If you wouldn’t do or say something in real life, don’t do it online either.
